A European Conference on Reading is held every two years. The European Conferences on Reading are jointly organized by the International Development in Europe Committee (IDEC) of the International Reading Association and the local national association's organising committee. Although the main Conference language is English, a speaker may present a paper in any European language. There are normally, therefore, sessions in at least German, Spanish, and French, as well as in English.
The Highly appreciated Conferences are a show case of the professional activities of the European and International network of the members of the IDEC and IRA. European Conferences on Reading to Date - 1977 Beaumont-sur-Oise, France
