Six leadership workshops, which have been supported by International Reading Association, have been held in Europe.
These were in Prague, Czech Republic (1991), Tallinn, Estonia (1992), Fuengirola, Spain (1995), Vienna, Austria (1999), and Crete, Greece (2004). The fifth European leadership workshop is in Cluj-Napoca, Romania (2008).
These workshops are organised and led by experienced IDEC members and International Reading Association, IRA staff, and focus on various aspects of establishing and running national reading associations.
National affiliates of IRA in Europe also attend international leadership conferences in North America that are organised by the International Reading Association.
