ILA Research Panel featured research session on Dyslexia
Dyslexia and the growing influence of dyslexia-organizations is a matter of concern in the US.
The official program says: “In this session, two distinguished scholars, one from the United States and one from Germany, will present their perspectives on research relating to dyslexia. Professor Donna Scanlon has done systematic research on children’s reading development and difficulties, particularly dyslexia, for over 35 years and through over $22 million of research grants. ILA has awarded her the Albert J. Harris Award for her research. Professor Renate Valtin is president of the German Society for Reading and Writing. She is a member of the Reading Hall of Fame and winner of ILA’s William S. Gray Citation of Merit for her research, which has also focused on children’s literacy development and dyslexia. ”.
